Description: Nautical Charts have been purchased by Hakai through the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS). The CHS holds all rights to the information. It is not to be reproduced and is provided to Hakai researchers to assist in referencing their work. Nautical charts provide information about the marine environment - with a focus on navigational aid. CHS data are the best complete view for bathymetry, hazards, and general marine geography. There are still errors and missing information about rocks and other hazards so CHS data should not be the sole provider for navigation in the field. The CHS data was gathered, processed, and published by Mattew Foster (Hakai IT Administrator) in the fall of 2014. It was put on AGOL December 2014.Further processing of this Bathymetry Contours data was conducted by Santiago Gonzalez and Keith Holmes in September, 2015.Areas covered: Greater Hakai Study Area.
